Carol Francois, Licensed Acupuncturist, is a native San Franciscan and the youngest daughter of the late Terry A. Francois, the first African American to serve on San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors. She holds a Liberal Arts degree with a concentration in Interdisciplinary Sciences, and she has studied Traditional Chinese Medicine and holistic therapies since 1980. Carol has worked extensively with women's health issues, substance abuse and trauma, and acute and chronic pain conditions. She is a founding member and current Executive Director of Acupuncture and Recovery Treatment Services Inc. (A.R.T.S.).

For many years, Carol worked in the San Francisco County jails and appeared in numerous news segments documenting this important work. Since 2001, Carol has been studying a lesser-known style of acupuncture called Master Tung’s Points (www.tungspoints.com) that is renowned for its immediate results using only a few needles.
